A Song on the Wind

By Aarron Mondello

Across the ocean waters blue

The sun sets bright over you

Rippling waters glisten in the light

Pink and purple proceed the night

And if I listen closely to the wind

I can hear the whisper of you singing

A melody sung of lands afar

Welcoming the multitudes of twinkling stars

I join your song strumming my harp

Hoping you’ll hear me with your heart

For though the distance is cruel and far

Here we sit under the very same stars.
