Unwell child

We’ve had a stomach flu slowly work its way through our kids. Been a rough few nights.

My body’s heavy
Legs unsteady
Eyelids want to close already
No luxury to be forgetting
Those others who rely on you.

The night lasted ages
Ruled by the dilapidated
And poisoned sages
Who at midnight’s hour serenaded
Me with vomits contagious song.

The sun it rose much too soon
Where is the night bring back the moon
So tired now I start to swoon
Long does the day before me loom
Vile and full of filth.

The night was long
As illness prolonged
Ripped through laughters usual song
As we exhausted waited upon
The illness to leave him to be.

But he awoke with sparkling eyes
No longer throat full of painful cries
Despite my already tired sighs
I’d take comfort if I’m wise
In a chap now laughing loudly.

Here come the clowns

This was hard for me to write but I hope you like it.

The benches are packed

Excitement fills the air
The Ringmasters mighty whip cracks
The children turn to stare
Towards the curtains hanging down
HONK HONK HONK
Here come the clowns

Juggling
Tumbling
Rolly poleys
Popcorn forgotten
So are the lollies
One throws water on another ones face
He wipes it off and gets pie in its place

Cartwheels
Somersaults
They walk on their hands
The children meanwhile in the stands
Fill the Big Top with the sound of their laugh
How do so many fit in a tiny blue car?

Squirting flowers trick the kids
Contortionist clowns close the lids
On their tiny boxes here within
The Circus Masters magical ring

Now long faces bottom lips droop down
As HONK HONK HONK
There go the clowns
