Rain Dancer

Coolness trickling

Tickling

In lines down your skin

A bone deep chill

A thrill

Enticement felt within

To sing and dance

To spare a glance

All thought washed away

Cavorting leaping

Dancing

Through the day

Laughter tinkling

Water sprinkling

Steps as light as air

Patterns glowing

Flowing

Through the dancers steps so fair

All the while

Glowing smiles

Masking joyful strain

Music made

Footprints fade

Dancing in the rain

Storm

Little trails of raindrops
Lace on the windowpane
No one little trickle
Tracked a path the same
As it’s brethren running
Down the windowpane

Outside the day is gloomy
The wind blew in the trees
Clouds flowed across the sun
Almost night it seemed
Forks of jagged lightning
Reached down for the trees

Thunder rumbled loud above
Angry in the skies
A sound like giants throwing
Massive tumbling dice
Across their wooden tabletops
Hidden in the skies

The storm outside is growing
Lightning strokes are glowing
Violent winds are blowing
Rain seems never slowing
Nature’s power showing
As the storm out there keeps growing

Goodnight

I recall well the electrical moons
Grimy flickering street lights
I remember I caught you as you started to swoon
And watched you drift out of my life

Thunder crashed loud in the world around
I swear it called out your name
A wild deity’s calamitous shout
Asking you to His game

The rain fell gently pattering the streets
Slick and shining yellow
With such fear in your eyes you turned slowly to me
You skin gone ashen and sallow

And here I stand in the street again
I stand where you were stolen from me
There I can see your spirit dance in the rain
Weightless, forever carefree

You dance over to me, like gossamer lace
The wind blowing your ethereal hair
Up on your toes you gently kiss my face
A kiss like a tickle of air

You smile at me with bright searching eyes
As you fade again from my sight
Like a breath on my cheek there your fingers lie
In a reflective caress godnight

Lonely Night

By Aarron Mondello

16/1/2018

Rain drops falling in her hair
Into their midst she blankly stares
Searching for what’s no longer there
For tonight her moon has died

Sadness fills her fit to bursting
In the darkness looming lurking
Are broken hearts tonight they’re hurting
It seems the sun has lied

The promise it made of warmth and love
Broken like the moon above
No loving arms around her hug
No comfort in this stormy night

Through the rain on broken feet
She walks slowly through the streets
And if her maker she does meet
From numb hands her heart he’ll pry

And still the rain runs down her face
Weaving runnels of silver lace
Covering up each painful trace
Behind this new mask she will hide.
